TPM2 was hosted by GFOSS in Athens and brought together 19 participants, including four representatives from the host organisation.
The aim of this transnational mid-term meeting was to review the progress of WP2, coordinate the work of:
- PR1 – Study of teachers’ practices and learners’ needs in robotics and STEM in Europe,
- the draft results of PR2 – Design and development of S.T.E.P.S., the new generation of open source educational robot
- the upcoming work on PR3 – Test and evaluation of S.T.E.P.S. educational robot and PR4 – Instruction manual for the assembly and programming of S.T.E.P.S. educational robot
- and finalise the next technical, scientific and educational steps.
For PR1, the partners reviewed the collection of ten practices per country, the evaluation method involving two experts, and the selection of practices for in-depth analysis. Discussions also focused on the scientific dissemination of the results.
With regard to PR2 and PR3, the consortium examined the development of the robot, the different versions to be produced and tested, the evaluation methodology and the organisation of the testing phase. In particular, it was agreed that UniLaSalle would produce and test its own FOSSBot unit, whilst HUA would continue development and supply functional versions to the other testers. The partners also clarified expectations regarding teaching scenarios, documentation, interfaces and the integration of the robot into different disciplines.
Finally, TPM2 enabled the coordination of PR4, communication, the project website and the distinction between communication and dissemination activities. Responsibilities, deadlines and follow-up actions were defined for each partner.
